"Mitt Romney Losing Support Among Older Voters" 9/24

"Mitt Romney Losing Support Among Older Voters"

This article explains that Romney's popularity is decreasing among older voters, mostly ranging 60 years and over. Pollster analyst, Julia Clark, says these are the people that always turn up to vote. Seniors are usually the ones backing the Republican candidate because of their promises with Medicare and the costs of health insurance, so seeing such a dip in their support for Romney is a "game changer" for the Democrats. Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan, was even booed as he gave a speech at an AARP convention in New Orleans. Senior voters are mostly the reason the U.S. House of Representatives was elected Republican. Since Obama has women, minority, and young voters mostly on his side, it is crucial for Romney to gain all the support he can of older Americans.
I could use the information in this article to find out why the people who vote for Democrats and why the people who vote for Republicans do so, because this article tells me many of the people who voted Republican in the past did because they liked what they heard about health insurance and Medicare and those things concern them more than others.
Although this article is about the bad direction Romney's campaign could e headed in, David Morgan doesn't seem to be on any particular side through the text. He's just reporting on recent polls.
This kind of article may influence Romney and his running mate to reconsider some of their plans, considering some of the regularly consistent voters aren't too happy with the current situation.
